Content manager 

IIED is looking for a content manager to join the Communications Group on a full-time, maternity cover contract until 31 May 2025.

The postholder will initiate, manage, develop, write, edit and evaluate a wide range of strategic content across print and digital channels. Alongside digital content, they will ensure that key audiences in the global South have access to our print materials, overseeing the creation of well-written and engaging content across the print-digital spectrum, from short briefings to opinion pieces, animations, podcasts and photo stories.

They will need experience of editorial work with researchers or academics, working with research material and knowing how to present this in different formats to a variety of audiences. They should also have a good understanding of the environment and sustainable development issues, and of policy-oriented research content.

Urban climate resilience lead and principal researcher

IIED is looking for an urban climate resilience lead and principal researcher to initiate and steer the design, development, coordination and implementation of large and complex research programmes. They will develop cutting-edge knowledge, learning and research outputs and will catalyse coalitions of like-minded actors and organisations through programmes of public affairs, communications and convenings. 

Applicants will need wide-ranging research experience, a track record of securing funding for large projects from a wide range of donors and experience of working on multi-country, multi-year projects with a variety of partners. They will also need to be well networked with extensive experience of coordinating and sustaining diverse teams or collaborative networks. They should have skills in managing projects, budgets, monitoring and evaluation, and people.

Director of strategic impact

IIED is looking for a director of strategic impact, who will play a pivotal role in driving strategy, focusing on addressing the critical challenges of nature loss, climate change and inequality through innovative experimentation and rapid learning. This leadership position involves refining key ideas, fostering partnerships and forming impactful alliances for greater influence and visibility.

The applicant should be a dynamic, inclusive leader adept in philanthropy, grant-making, research, strategic planning, advocacy, programme development and evaluation. They should have a proven research track record with evidence of high quality, policy-relevant and influential publications and impact.

The deadline for applications is 1 May 2024.
